I. Expressing Supposition with吧
This expresses that the speaker has an assumption, but asks for confirmation.

1. A:你會唱中文歌吧?
B:會。可是不多,我只會唱三首。
2. A:他平常都坐捷運來上課吧?
B:不是,他都坐公車來上課。
3. A:你現在有空吧?要不要跟我一起去看網球比賽?
B:有空,可是我想先吃一點兒東西。
II.VV看 (to try and see)
In this pattern, a mono-syllable action verb is reduplicated and a cognitive verb 看 is placed at the end.

1. A:我不知道要買哪種甜點。
B:你可以先吃吃看。
2.A:聽說這裡的咖啡很好喝。
B:好,我喝喝看。

III. 快(要)/要………………了(to be about to)
This pattern indicates that the action following 快(要)/要 is about to happen. 7 is always used at the end of the sentence.
